Never Give Up!

by Vanessa King

For several years I have been trying to build a partnership for my business in pageantry, something that could be long-lasting that can help both parties involved. I have written letters and emails and made phone calls, the majority of which went unanswered.

About a year ago I approached and they seemed interested. I wrote up a proposal for them and I was told they were going to review it. My contact person with the organization said they were going to have a meeting that week and they would get back with me. When I didn’t hear anything, I tried to reach my contact with the organization and again, sending several emails and making several phone calls. The organization never responded to my messages. I felt I was being “brushed off” because I have just a small business and they didn’t want to deal with me.

Even after this, I still continued to search. A few months ago I made contact with an organization through their Facebook page and my request was forwarded to appropriate person in the organization. I again wrote up a proposal, outlining my idea and giving them background on my pageant business. They were in the middle of planning a large event and I had to wait.

I continued to remind them that I really wanted to partner with them and I finally had the opportunity to discuss extensively with one of the organization’s executives, who had reviewed all the information I gave them, including visiting my pageant websites. It just so happened that this particular organization had been considering building the type of partnership that I was proposing; they believed that regardless of the size of the organization, if they had the desire to help their organization, they should be allowed to. And now, I am awaiting an agreement so that we can partner our organizations on a trial basis; I will be the first small company to have this type or partnership with them. If everything works out, we will then sign a new contract for a long-term partnership agreement.

You see, I didn’t give up. I kept going, no matter how many rejections I received or how much I was ignored. I feel that I finally contacted an organization that I was meant to contact, an organization that I should be partnering with. My persistence and determination has finally paid off.

So never give up! If it’s something you truly believe in and it is something you should do, God will make it happen when the time is right!

"Since I came into the IB ministry I have learned that I am a precious child of God..I am what God says I am..not what everyone else says! I want to be an example for Jesus. So that means to love my enemies and to be bold in the face of adversity as he gives me wisdom to speak. I cannot make choices for anyone else. But I can plant seeds along lifes way while here on earth. I believe if we at IB come together in one mind and of one accord God will add the increase. Sincerely Yours in Christ"
