Living The Love Dare - A Year of Daily Reminders to Lead Your Heart

by Jennifer Haynes

Excerpts from THE LOVE DARE by Stephen Kendrick & Alex Kendrick

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is eagerly promised at weddings, but rarely practiced in real life. As a result, romantic hopes are often replaced with disappointment in the home. But it doesn't have to stay that way. These excerpts taken from THE LOVE DARE book will help remind you that when you surrender yourself to Christ, there is no telling what He can do in your marriage.

NOTE: Although this is geared towards marriage, I think that we can apply the principals in everyday life and relationships with others. Some of the writings have been paraphrased to better reflect love for one another as God's children.

Live the Love Dare
February 1-11

LOVE IS NOT SELFISH

February 1 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor. -Romans 12:10

February 2 If there were ever a word that basically means the opposite of love, it is selfishness.

February 3 Love "does not seek its own" -1 Corninthians 13:5

February 4 It is good at times to put the happiness of others above your own.

February 5 When you relinquish your rights for the sake of others, you get a chance to lose yourself to the greater
purpose of God's love.

February 6 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more
important than yourselves. - Philippians 2:3

LOVE IS THOUGHTFUL

February 7 How precious also are Your thoughts to me ... How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they
would outnumber the sand. -Psalm 139:17-18

February 8 Love thinks. It's not a mindless feeling that rides on waves of emotion and falls asleep mentally.
It keeps busy in thought, knowing that loving thoughts precede loving actions.

February 9 If you don't learn to be thoughtful, you end up regretting missed opportunities to demonstrate love.
Thoughtlessness is a silent enemy to love.

February 10 It is not good for any of us to be alone. Therfore, we have one another as sisters and brothers in Christ
and our purpose is to help one another.

February 11 As a woman longs for her husband to be thoughtful, we long for others to be thoughtful of us. It is a key
to helping us feel loved by one another as God loves us.

Testimonial

"IB has been a great experience, during my year of reign I have used my title to go out and make appearances with my local Kiwanis club. It has given me the opportunity to meet new people and gain new experiences. I have had so much fun being an IB title holder, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to better themselves through pageantry."
