Maranda Helmick has been honored as the Integrity Beauty Inspiring Woman. Maranda has lived in Ohio her whole life of 20 years and currently resides in Fowler, OH. She is a graduate of Joseph Badger High School and is currently furthering her education at Youngstown State University for Biology and Kent State University for Veterinary Technology. In the past, Maranda has taken many different endeavors, such as Assistant Director of Ohio American Royal Miss pageant system, Trumbull County 4H, Miss Ohio preliminary pageants, volunteering at The Animal Welfare League, JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes research Foundation), Hartford Apple Festival Pageant, and American Diabetes Walk for a Cure. Maranda loves to support fundraising activities for local 5K runs, American Diabetes Walk as a Team Captain and Red Stripes Leader, and annually works with her uncle who organizes fundraising activities toward diabetes in her name.
Maranda lives with her mom, dad, and younger brother, where her and her family raise pigs for 4H at the county fair. Along with pig farming, Maranda works at a veterinary hospital in Champion, OH where she is a Technician Assistant, she also enjoys running and being artistic.
At a young age Maranda was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. She has struggled many years to get her disease under control, but looks at her struggles as a way to help and inform others. One of her goals in life is to be an advocate to help and inspire other juvenile diabetics to get them on the right track. She hopes to tell them her story with her disease and encourage them to do the right things to take care of themselves. One big supporter in her life was her Nana. Her Nana was a remarkable woman who helped raise and care for Maranda. At an age too young she found out she had colon cancer and passed away when Maranda was the age of 13. At this point in her life, Maranda felt alone and discouraged. She had lost faith in what matters the most and had begun to doubt God. Recently, her faith was restored when Jesus came to her in a dream. At that point she realized that God wants her to be restored. That God is waiting for her to give her life to Jesus. That once she does that everything will be okay. Since then, Maranda has been regularly attending church and talks to the Lord every day. He has changed her life.
Maranda has joined Integrity Beauty to become closer to God and to inspire others to have faith. Despite her doubt in Him, He has still given her a chance. She has joined to help others and to become the woman God has meant for her to become. She hopes to show women that you can do anything through Christ. Nothing is impossible.
